The Intercruises Asia teams have always relished creativity when it comes to giving back to their local communities. This time round, several members of the Shanghai team managed to knock it out of the park in terms of originality, giving up their time to create 1,500 lip balm sticks from scratch.

“Random” you might think, but hear us out.

The high altitudes of some remote villages around the Sela county, means that for many inhabitants, dry, chapped and even bleeding lips are still a common occurrence. Knowing this, the team set out on a mission, creating their very own initiative in the hope of easing the harsh winter for the local villagers. With the use of natural oils and ingredients, the teams prepared and placed the compounds into molds, before packing and delivering the finished products to local primary schools.

Around 1,000 of the lip balm sticks were distributed among the students of several schools, while 500 were gifted to the staff of the Pujiang Station of Shanghai Immigration Inspection, Wusong Station of Customs and the Wusong Kou Port Group, as a small New Year gesture.

“During this initiative, the Intercruises China team combined kindness and fun, with the aim of making lives that little bit easier during these bitterly cold months. Who would have thought the simplest item such as a lip balm could make such a big difference to a lot of people. There was no official charity involved, it was just the Intercruises team, from one heart to another.”

A huge well done to the China team for their efforts and creativity!
