Durban Cultural & Culinary Odyssey is an immersive experience that brings Durban’s rich Indian heritage to life through authentic storytelling, blending history, culture, spirituality, and cuisine. Behind the Scenes of the Carreiros do Monte, a National Geographic Day Tour, offers exclusive access to the Carreiros workshop, providing guests with a rare opportunity to discover the stories and traditions behind Madeira’s famous wicker toboggans. Dating back to the 1850s, these iconic sleds were originally used to transport residents from Monte to Funchal and remain a cherished part of the island’s cultural heritage today.
