Intercruises on the Road: Events Round-Up

Athens, Cape Breton, San Jose, Kudasi, Santander & Barcelona - Dimitris Bekos, Shandra Stoeterau, Robert Moroney, Deborah Vega, Teresa Holzl and Ramon Hurtado recap their involvement during cruise industry event season…

Posidonia Sea Tourism Forum, Athens – Greece, with Dimitris Bekos, National Manager Greece

“I was delighted to participate in an interactive panel entitled Destinations, Itinerary Planning & Shore Excursions, discussing industry challenges and the growing demand for authentic experiences. Over 800 cruise industry professionals attended the event, which included a dinner on the first night hosted by Intercruises. It was a fantastic couple of days and a superb platform to discuss the cruise industry in the East Med and Black Sea.”

CCNE Symposium 2019, Cape Breton – USA, with Shandra Stoeterau, Shorex Product Development Manager North America

“We are very committed to the Canada-New England region and were proud to sponsor the event, which gathered over 200 industry professionals to explore the latest cruise trends from the area. We are always looking for new product ideas, especially to develop more authentic and sustainable experiences, so CCNE presents what is new in the region and is a great platform to strengthen our crucial local partnerships.”

Dimitris, Ramon & Teresa take the stage, wonderful dinners in Athens and Kudasi, the MedCruise group, views from Cape Breton and San Jose

FCCA Central America Cruise Summit, San Jose – Costa Rica, with Robert Moroney, Global Port Operations Manager

“For my first event representing Intercruises I was joined by Jonatan Soto Morales, our Operations Manager in Costa Rica, as we met different cruise lines and ports to discuss opportunities in Costa Rica and the wider Central America and Caribbean region. There is a lot of potential for Intercruises in this region, especially for our newly developed Port Operations Team, so it was great to use this event to start some well overdue conversations – watch this space!”

54th MedCruise General Assembly, Kudasi – Turkey, with Deborah Vega, Business Development Director Med

“At Intercruises we are looking at sustainability, luxury experiences, digitalisation and the latest trends, all of which were discussed during a very productive and collaborative event in Kudasi. There was a particular focus on the East Med and Black Sea, which is very relevant for us, with local Intercruises teams across the region. Overall a great event with a chance to network with cruise line and port friends, old & new, from across the region.”

Santander Cruise Forum – Spain, with Teresa Holzl, Product Development Executive Med

“As a speaker I highlighted key aspects of luxury product development, such as unique venues and once-in-a-lifetime experiences, customized to meet the needs of specific cruise brands and guest demographics. We have created these experiences throughout the Mediterranean and discussing this with local stakeholders was very productive, showing that the Santander cruise community is very motivated to develop luxury product.”

YoungShip – Barcelona, with Ramon Hurtado, Global Product & Operations Manager

YoungShip is a non-profit organization for young people working in the maritime industry, so this was an opportunity to introduce Intercruises and provide insights on how the cruise industry works, while at the same time gaining new and interesting feedback from the people that will be the future of the cruise industry.”
