Africa
White sandy beaches line the Kenyan Coastline, edging on the waters of the Indian Ocean. Arab and Portuguese forts and old towns clearly illustrate its fascinating history. This country has become the symbol of Africa´s great wildlife with its enormous variety of animal species such as lions, cheetahs and elephants. The natural beauty of the National Parks offer overwhelming wildlife experiences. This blend of living history makes KENYA an exotic paradise different from anything you have experienced before!
Forget Hollywood fripperies, Madagascar is like no place else on earth. In fact, all things considered, it barely qualifies as part of Africa: the two are separated by hundreds of kilometres of sea and 165 million years of evolution – long enough for Madagascar’s plants and animals to evolve into some of the weirdest forms on the planet. Nowhere else can you see over 70 varieties of lemur, including one that sounds like a police siren, the world’s biggest and smallest chameleons, and the last stomping ground of the elephant bird, the largest bird that ever lived. Near Ifaty in Southern Madagascar you will see forests of twisted, spiny ‘octopus’ trees and in the west, marvel at the bottle-shaped baobabs, especially the Avenue du Boabab near Morondava. And be on the lookout for the carnivorous pitcher plant found around Ranomafana, there are over 60 varieties of them. Not for nothing is Madagascar regarded as the world’s number one conservation priority.
The shores of this peaceful and calm tropical island in the Indian Ocean are lapped by its colourful rainbowlike sea where the past and present have become smoothly blended together. Exploring the island and its people is a fascinating flashback to some of the most refined ancestral traditions of all time. This is the place where Europe meets Africa, China and India with intense colour, aromas and flavours. Mauritius having natural beauty will make you come back and visit it many times.
Mozambique is one of Africa’s up-and-coming hot-spots, with stunning beaches, excellent diving and magical offshore islands. Go snorkelling around the Bazaruto Archipelago, sail on a dhow through mangrove channels or laze under the palms in the Quirimbas Archipelago, take an off-beat safari in the wilds of Gorongosa National Park, wander along cobbled streets past stately colonial-era buildings on Ilha de Moçambique, sip a café espresso at one of Maputo’s lively sidewalk cafés (or maybe a caipirinha at one of its jazz bars), watch the silversmiths at work on Ibo Island or dance to the country’s trademark marrabenta music.
The impressive scenery and lodges of the Namib Desert with its vast shifting sand dunes and great open spaces. The breathtaking Fish River Canyon in the South , the endless thorn savannah or the baobabs with lions, elephants , zebras and giraffes. See the impressive Wilhelmian-style buildings in the country´s busy capital City of Windhoek where the German colonial times have left their mark. It’s here in NAMIBIA where yesterday and today come together and Africa blends with Europe. It’s all just waiting to be seen and enjoyed!
Jutting out of the ocean like a basaltic shield cloaked in green, Reunion is a mini-Hawaii, with astounding geographical diversity. Within an hour or two, the landscape morphs from lava fields to lush primary forest, from jagged peaks to sprawling coastal cities. The West is Réunion's Riviera, a long string of beach suburbs and resorts towns, including glitzy Boucan Canot. The pièce de résistance is Les Hautes & the volcano. Piton de la Fournaise is one of the world’s most accessible active volcanoes and depending on nature’s whims, you might even witness fiery-red molten lava.
Rodrigues is one of the most pleasant surprises Mauritius has to offer. Blissfully isolated over 500km northeast of the mainland, this tiny island is a volcanic creation only one million years old, a stunning, mountainous gem where it’s hard to feel connected to even Mauritius, let alone the wider world. Often sold rather misleadingly as a ‘mini-Mauritius’, Rodrigues’ differences from its distant master are what actually make people who come here fall for it.
The great variety of this republic will really impress you: colourful scenery, culture and animals living in the great outdoors. You´ll be spellbound by Cape Town from the top of Table Mountain. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Garden Route. Kruger National Park is well worth a visit to see lions and leopards, elephants, buffalos and rhinos. Get to know about the different lifestyles of the local tribes during your tour to the Kingdom of Lesotho.
The famous Mount Kilimanjaro; wildlife in Serengeti; the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater and the beautiful beaches at Zanzibar make it an amazing place. About a hundred and twenty tribes of varied cultures, races and traditions make a perfect harmonious blending point in Africa.
Which island should you go to? Don’t sweat the decision too much. Be it one of the three main islands of Praslin, La Digue or Mahé - its mountainous interior being home to Morne Seychellois National Park - or any outlying island, you’ll strike gold.
