Intercruises worked through the night preparing Manhattan’s Pier 88 ahead of Hurricane  Sandy, clearing the piers, managing provisions and doing everything possible before Sandy reached the port. After the storm hit, Intercruises teams worked vigorously to reopen Pier 88 after the damage Sandy had wrought; cruise terminals were under four-feet of water, electricity was only available on one pier, boarding bridges were frozen in place and there was no escalator/elevator service. Despite all this and due to the tireless work done by the Intercruises teams, the port reopened five days later. Intercruises staff delivered excellent service duties despite not having many basic facilities.
